Today I worked on another 1940s-inspired triangular design. The pictures really don't do the rich gold brocade justice. It really is an awesome print, and the deep gold satin crepe lining matches the deep gold in the dragon design. The self-fabric handle is about 21" long - slips over the shoulder with the bag high up on the chest. There is an interior patch pocket. It closes with a magnetic snap clasp.

The base is around 12" wide coming up to a curved opening around 8" wide. The height is around 8" where the straps meet the sides.

1940s Inspired Fashion City Print Bag

Today I worked with a triangular design that is a shape along the lines of 1940s bags. The handle is longer - about 22" - long enough to slip over your shoulder. The handle is self-fabric with a contrast black sueded fabric strip down the center. The print reads "NEW YORK" "PARIS" "MILAN" "LONDON". The color is a deap teal, the print is black. There is an interior patch divided pocket. It closes with a magnetic snap clasp.

The base is around 12" wide coming up to a curved opening around 9" wide. The height is around 9" where the straps meet the sides.

I had a commission to create a rounded handbag in brown brocade dragon print. I chose a shiny silky brown fabric as the lining. It's both luxurious and functional. It has a zipper close and a patch pocket.

I like to change around my personal purses from time. I've been thinking about it, and what I'd like. I decided to play around with some faux suede fabric I'd purchased - an animal print and black suede. I ended up with a purse similar to the red and black dragon with the chain, but a size up and a black satin cord handle. I picked a nostalgic print fabric - diners primarily - for the lining and inside patch pockets. There are matching animal print loops attaching the handle. It closes with a magnetic snap. I used the same black faux suede fabric to create the piping. The bag is given added padding with fleece between the outer fabric and the interfaced lining.

I've always said, I love purses. I have to treat myself sometimes, too!

New Cell Phone Cases Ready!

I have added some new cell phone cases into the Exotic Bags By Matthea store. The pink floral, which would go great with the pink RAZR, is a different design, but still works wonderfully. That one is velcro closed, the others are snap. Those can actually be modified if needed.

Cat Cell case/bag for Motorola RAZR V3

This is a purple bag with cats holding handbags. It's designed specifically to hold the Motorola RAZR V3 cell phone (I've got mine up as an example). The lining is black checkerboard.

I have a design of my own that is perfect for tossing into my purse or carrying by the cord handle. It's sturdy, padded, and light.

So far, I've found this variation of the envelope handbag to be my favorite style. I had come across a fabric that had really cool license plates all over it. I used the hotel logo for the lining. Black microsuede for the handles. I used a magnetic snap closure. There are two sets of patch pockets inside, one is split.

I made a matching cell phone case, closing it with velcro squares. The same fabric as the handbag for the outside and lining. The strap is a more satiny cord than the last one. It's also designed for the RAZR.

This is one that I designed for myself. I wanted a cell phone case for my new RAZR. I made it with fleece interfacing, a New York fashion design fabric, and a lining with fabric that has hotel logos all over it. I just used a regular snap, and a black cord strap.

This is one that I did for fun, but also trying a slightly different design. It ended up a mini tote bag, with white piping along the top, a blue microsuede handle. The magnetic snap is sewn into pockets in the lining.
